NAACP, Welch Allyn help Auburn students
Some Auburn students are a little more prepared for the upcoming 2017-18 school year thanks to the Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP and Welch Allyn.

The Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP and Welch Allyn both held school supply drives for Auburn schools this summer; the NAACP held its annual drive earlier this month, and Welch Allyn held an ongoing drive throughout the summer. Welch Allyn’s drive was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative where they are committed to making contributions to local communities where they can make a difference.

The Auburn School District and the Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP hosted its annual “Back to School/Stay in School” School Supply Giveaway to distribute the supplies they collected during the drive. The giveaway was Saturday, August 26, at Genesee Elementary School, 244 Genesee St.

“We are so fortunate to have had Welch Allyn and the NAACP both coordinate school supply drives to support Auburn students and families,” said Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Camille Johnson.

“We greatly appreciate their commitment and support.”
