Auburn High School School Resource Officer's Homepage

I would like to welcome you to our webpage. My name is Officer Jim Slayton and I am the full-time school resourse officer at Auburn High School. I am also joined by Officer Paul Martin three days a week . Our mission at the Auburn High is to investigate crimes that happen on the school grounds, mentor students and be a liaison between the school, parents and the community. While at the high school we teach we are invited in several classrooms to teach police related topics including vehicle and traffic law, DWI, search and seizure and  internet safety. We also teach a class called Drive Alive @ 25 which stresses driver/passenger safety along with other rules of the road. To be able to park at Auburn High students must succesfully complete this class in order to obtain their parking permit. The course is approximately 4hrs. in length and is taught several times over the course of the school year. You must complete this course by Oct 1, 2008 to obtain your parking permit. You do not have to attend this class if you already have completed a drivers education course put on by Boces.
